"At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone."

Tenderness Is Fearlessness
Hey Everyone..
Hope everyone's CHRISTmas was well spent.
Below is another excerpt from a book I just finished. This section really spoke to me. *I personally find it hard to empathize with people that are going through tough times. It something that doesn't come naturally.
"A true measure of courage is willingness to be tender when compassion demands it. Inability to be tender is fear - of man, of appearances, or of reality, which hides an even deeper fear of responsibility."
Take Care,
Mike P

A Mindset Worth Pursuing
"The Christ-led man negotiates and lives in reality well. His is able to speak the TRUTH, acknowledge the TRUTH in a situation, and encourage others to face reality with a TRUTHful perspective. He's learned that the emotionally convenient and comfortable response is often the misleading one. He is guided by the Holy Spirit's strong leadership, and finds truth in reality."

Mike,
Awesome job on the blog! Much appreciated. I look forward to checking it out and will make short contributions as I know I tended to get quite lengthy in the past. :-)

Symbiotic Sonship
Hello Everyone,
I'm in the middle of a phenomenal book by Kenny Luck (Every Man's Ministries) titled "DREAM". Its all about breaking down what God's true dream is for every believer.
Here is a quick part from the book that really grabbed me regarding the level of relationship that God truly desires with all of us.
First of all, a verse from John.
"Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you and they know that you have sent me. I have made you know to them and will continue to make you know IN ORDER THAT THE LOVE YOU HAVE FOR ME MAY BE IN THEM AND THAT I MYSELF MAY BE IN THEM." John 17:25-26
Then he goes on to write...
"Christlikeness is all about sonship with the Father. God's dream for you is to experience, as Jesus modeled, true fellowship and reciprocity with Him. Take a second to absorb that. Let it sink into your soul: Your heavenly Father is seeking you out, His beloved son."

The Beginning
Hello Everyone,
The "Bayside Brothers Of Christ" blog is officially live! After 5 minutes of planning, hard work, and mind straining struggle I was able to finally get our blog created!
For those of you who weren't at last Thursday's meeting, we followed up a discussion that we had in the past about creating a blog for our group. For those of you who haven't been active participants on a blog, no need to worry, you'll become experts in no time.
For any of you guys that want to be "authors" (I hope this is all of you) of this blog, please reply to the email you received that led you to this post and let me know. Never been an author on a blog?.. no need to worry. An author simply means that you have the ability to "post" notes, articles, thoughts, etc at will.
I hope that as we all get used to visiting our blog, we will feel compelled to participate (some more than others I know) in either posting things of interest (articles we've read, thoughts for the day, prayer requests, praises, really anything) or simply leaving a comment on another brother's post.
The address for our blog is easy http://baysidebros.blogspost.com (bookmark it for easy access!)
THERE ARE NO RULES (AS OF YET) FOR OUR BLOG, except that we respect each others viewpoints and don't turn the comments section into a platform for a heated arguments. I've set things up so that anyone can comment whether or not you have a Google account, but again, in order to be a participant that can post things, you need to be an "author" of the blog. As of right now, I'm the only author..go figure!
Ok.. I'll shut up for now. Feel free to test the comments section below this post (my wife took the liberty to be sure it worked properly) and again, reply to the email I sent that notified you of our new blog if you'd like me to set you up as an author. I will basically be putting your email addresses into the system and Google will walk you through the rest.
Take care guys.. For those of you not coming this Thursday, have a Merry CHRISTmas and a Happy New Year.
